A wish list presented by IT Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP) such as attracting big players, encouragement to SME and augmenting ecosystem to make Visakhapatnam a prominent IT hub received an encouraging response from new IT Minister Nara Lokesh.
A delegation of IT entrepreneurs and professionals from various regions of the State, during a courtesy call to Mr. Lokesh on his appointment as IT Minister were given the promise that timelines would be set for taking up various activities such as creating a comprehensive ecosystem for growth of IT and IT enabled services.
The Minister also advised ITAAP with its key persons as members of a WhatsApp group to monitor various issues pertaining to growth of IT across the State.
He told ITAAP president Ravi Eswarapu and secretary Sreedhar Kosaraju that Vizag would be converted into one of the best destinations for investments.
Another assurance during the interaction was that the government would focus on SMEs in IT sector.
In the Millennium Tower being built at Rushikonda and sky-rise building being built at Siripuram by Software Technology Parks of India and VUDA, preference would be given to SME entrepreneurs for allotment of space at concessional rate.
With regard to long awaited demand for creating comprehensive ecosystem for startups and investments in cyber security and financial technology, Mr. Lokesh said in recognition of cosmopolitan culture and social infrastructure in Vizag, they would take bold steps to enhance the branding of the city to attract investors and various players in IT from all over the world.
