From Mexico City, there are six flights per day, lasting just over four and a half hours.  There are three airlines offering these flights:

I arrived at my campsite at about 7 a.m. and immediately began to set up my tent. It only took a few minutes. After a quick hike and a successful fishing excursion at Annie Creek that resulted in a catch of 3 good sized fish, I hooked up my generator and cooked a very delicious and well deserved lunch. I was serenaded by the beautiful calls of a male Red Goshawk in a nearby tree.

Later that afternoon, I grabbed my canoe and headed for the Fitzroy River. The views were amazing and I saw a lot of unique wildlife that I’d never seen before. There was also a beautiful waterfall that I made sure to take lots of pictures of! After about 2 hours of exploring the river, I went ashore to just sit and enjoy being in the peaceful atmosphere of Dimond Gorge.

Back at my campsite for dinner, I prepared dinner and watched a small group of kangaroos playing in the distance. I dont know what I would do without my little generator. It makes camping so much easier since I dont have to cook everything by campfire. I went to sleep a little while after dinner to the sounds of chirping insects and ghost bats. Simply amazing!

The next morning I headed out to Lake Gladstone. I love wetlands and wanted to catch a glimpse of a freshwater crocodile if I could. Lo and behold, I spotted a large male basking in the sun on the far banks of the lake. I made sure to stay a safe distance away, but I did manage to take a few good pictures.

The rest of my week camping in the Australian wilderness was just as spectacular. I went hiking almost every day and set up my tent in various places just so I could observe as many animals as I could. There’s just something about a man being out in nature that just feels so right. I cant wait until my next wilderness trip!

            This is even truer at smaller countries that are not necessarily traveled to as often. Since they are not as occupied by tourists, it is easier for you and your family to experience all that the country has to offer. You do not have to conform and travel to the common destinations of Spain or Italy to enjoy your vacation, travel outside of your comfort zone to a place that was not even in your consideration before. These places are where you are truly going to make the most meaningful memories. First, a little bit of history. Durdle Door and its beach are part of the Jurassic Coast of Dover, a World Heritage site. Many dinosaur fossils have been discovered and unearthed at this stretch of shoreline, including the first complete Ichthyosaur fossil.

Durdle Door beach itself is privately owned by the same family that owns Lulworth Estate, which also included the beautiful Lulworth castle, that also hosts several medieval related events of great quality. As for Durdle Door itself, it’s something that at first glance defies logic. It indeed looks like a portal at sea, something that can only be explained by a perfect mixture of weak rock and erosion at the exact right place. The existence of that opening was what made the crescent shaped beach next to it possible, and it is now in danger of being destroyed, so efforts are being made to conserve it.

If you like water sports, you can enjoy the wilderness in a national forest in a canoe, or take in the local sights on a jet ski. You and your friends can take a spin around a go-kart track, or conquer the challenges of an ATV ride. You can prove your bravery by bungee jumping from a cable car, or free fly in a flight simulator.
